Rob Dust

It was the dawn of the 80's when Rob Dust began his musical journey with a Casio PT-30 keyboard in hand; of course that was before becoming a Depeche Mode aficionado. In 1983 he got hooked to Dave Gahan and co., so he upgraded his hardware to a Roland SH-2000 synth and an 8-bit Casio SK Sampler, dreaming to boldly go where no man has gone before - in a little town near Kiel, Germany, at least...

Fast forward to 1998. After playing in various synthpop bands, Rob Dust finally entered the German Alternative Charts with Lofilers and the top-10 big beat track On The Move. That was enough to earn him a job as a producer and remixer for many well-respected artists (Alphaville, Camouflage, Hubert Kah, Joachim Witt, Tokio Hotel) as one half of the producer team Warp Acht - I hope you can see the Star Trek connection here :-P.

Although he is well known for his musical diversity, deep inside Rob Dust remains an electronic pop addict. When he is not producing his own music (Freak, his beats and breaks-heavy solo record has just been released) or working with synthpop acts like Minerve, Lowe, Limbogott and Klee, he fronts 4TUNE8, a "nu metal meets electropop" band that would please fans of Linkin Park, Paradise Lost, Depeche Mode and Apoptygma Berzerk.
