Manicure started in 2007 by Zhenia Novikov and two sisters, Polina and Ania Butuzova, turning into a four-piece a year later with the addition of Zhora Kushnarenko. Having gained positive critical and public acclaim, the young Moskovites (who used to call themselves "Who Bed Models") released their debut EP Another Girl in January, 2008.
With a solid self-titled album (March 2009), Manicure brought in their penny in the revival of post-punk and in no time became one of the most loved and promising bands of the Moscow independent scene. Their dark yet groovy music draws influences from 80's post-punk bands and will surely please fans of Joy Division and New Order. If you are looking for gloomy sounds, dirty synths, gorgeous harmonies and rowdy rock-n-roll riffs, this band is for you.
