Dial M For Murder!

Monday, September 14, 2009

Dial M for Murder! is a two piece post-punk / indie band from Sweden. Stating Alfred Hitchcock, love & hate, low frequency bass, old drum machines, London and indie fashion as outside influences, the gloomy duo of David Ortenlof and Andy Lantto plays indie electro-pop with a strong goth vibe, somewhere between the poised assurance of Liverpool's Ladytron and the lugubrious side of Interpol and She Wants Revenge. References to 80's British post-punk bands such as The Chameleons are also to be found, as well as the aesthetics of classic bands like Joy Division.

After 2008's release of Oh No! / The Mourning Comes, The Morning After vinyl single, Dial M For Murder! return with Fiction Of Her Dreams, a full-length debut album filled with haunting vocals, soaring melodies, fuzzy electric guitars and agile basslines. If you fancy a pretty raw sound that is all about mood and expression, this band is for you.
