O. Children

O. Children is the London-based quartet of Tobi O’Kandi (singer and main songwriter), Andi Sleath (drums), Gauthier Ajarrista (guitarist) and Harry James (bass). Referencing post-punk and new wave, the band take their name from a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds song, and there is much about that group's early sound and dark subject matter to be found here.

The band's debut single is called Dead Disco Dancer (out now on Deadly People Recordings) and although dark it's catchy as hell. Cascading basslines are mixed with ice cold synths, while Tobi's eerie baritone vocals bring to mind Ian Curtis. If you like Joy Division, Bauhaus or The Horrors ver. 2.0 keep an eye on this lot, it won't be long before they're household names.
