Light In Your Life
Tuesday, November 10, 2009Formed in 2005 as Sleazy Romance, the five-piece from Uppsala renamed themselves Light In Your Life before releasing their eponymous debut album last summer. Despite their new moniker though, these Swedes are far from a bunch of blokes making upbeat music to dance your shocks off. Instead they play broody, melancholic post-punk influenced indie rock that can be just as depressing as it is beautiful and dreamlike. Their pop sensibility and dark undertones puts them in the same niche as bands like Editors, Interpol, Film School, Kent and The Cure.
LIYL give away their album for free, so there is no excuse for missing it out. If you need something gloomy for the upcoming winter nights, head over to Zorch Factory records website and start downloading.
