Isolated Atoms
Thursday, January 28, 2010Tipped by many to be the hottest and most professional undiscovered band in the UK, electro rockers Isolated Atoms have come a long way in a short space of time. Formed in February 2008 the band are drawing parallels with many influential acts of the past 25 years such as Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Bauhaus and a certain band from Manchester. Their intense and moody blend of angular guitars and ice cold synths takes the best aspects of new wave / post-punk and gives them a refreshing twist, resulting in an intriguing brand of electro rock.
These Black Country lads have been hailed by Kerrang! Radio as "the missing link between Joy Division and New Order" and with some proper promotion they are likely to reach stardom in no time. A couple of months ago they released their debut single Tell Me What I Want, a beautifully sombre track saturated in dark eighties drama and swelling atmospheric vocals, and now they've got Peter Hook (a huge fan himself) to produce their next single The Truth. Now that sounds most promising...
If you like Interpol, Ladytron, She Wants Revenge, Editors, White Lies or indie with conviction (before pretentious disco fashionistas took over) then this band is certainly worth a listen.
