Bondage Fairies

Bondage FairiesConceived in pleasure, the Bondage Fairies is probably the only Nintendo-death-punk band that the cold country of Sweden has squeezed out from its fleshy womb. Named after a Japanese Hentai graphic novel and infamous for their robot helmets, vintage synthesizers, and punk rock antics in the subculture of Stockholm, this bizarre electro act consists of Elvis Creep (lead vocals, guitar, synthesizer) and Deus Deceptor (vocals, bass, synthesizer).

The duo came together in 2001, sharing a common love in The Residents, Kraftwerk, Joy Division, and Roky Erikson. Their releases effectively blend indie guitars with 8-bit bleeps and blops, so whether you were a proud owner of a Commodore 64 in the ’80s, a Gameboy fanatic in the ’90s, a fan of Crystal Castles‘ chiptune in the ’00s, or just a Retro Gamer subscriber, give these Swedes a listen.
