Carolina Liar is an American / Swedish rock band based in Los Angeles. Lead vocalist Chad Wolf hails from Charleston, South Carolina, but he is the only Yankee on board since he is backed by an all-Swedish quintet of Jim Almgren Gandara (guitar), Johan Carlsson (keyboards), Rickard Göransson (guitar), Max Grahn (drums), and Erik Haager (bass).
Fusing the anthemic elements of U2 and The Killers with the electro production of Swedish pop maestro Max Martin, the band released their debut full-length Coming to Terms in 2008. The album has been moderately successful on the back of lead single I’m Not Over, which has received significant radio airplay as well as being featured on many television series, a movie and a video game – this is radio-friendly MOR indie rock, after all. However, before calling Carolina Liar a one-hit band you should check out the rest of their tunes; ranging from soul-searching ballads to spunky guitar rave-ups, this is infectious, delectable pop that will please fans of The Bravery, Snow Patrol, and The Fray.
