Cruel Black Dove

Cruel Black DoveBrooklyn-based outfit Cruel Black Dove have been making their own brand of dark and emotional electronic Lynch-esque rock since 2007. Comparisons to PJ Harvey, Garbage, Placebo, Curve, and Depeche Mode aren’t inappropriate, but Cruel Black Dove are still a force of their own, full to the brim with infectious sounds that ooze sex, spite, angst, hurt, and fury. Singer Anastasia Dimou has an impressive stage presence and vocal ability that meshes well with the skilled playing of her bandmates Alan Veucasovic (guitar) and Shirley Ho (bass).

Although the band only formed last year and have only released one EP, they have slowly been getting under the skin of the New York music scene with their passionate and powerful live shows. If they keep on cranking out the darkwave blues numbers, CBD are sure to be a hit.
