Dial M for Murder! is a post-punk band with a strong goth vibe from Stockholm, Sweden. Stating Alfred Hitchcock, love & hate, low frequency bass, old drum machines, London, and indie fashion as outside influences, the gloomy duo of David Ortenlof and Andy Lantto stands somewhere between the poised assurance of Ladytron and the lugubrious side of Interpol. References to post-punk stalwarts The Chameleons are also to be found, as well as the aesthetics of brooding icons Joy Division.
After 2008’s release of the Oh No! / The Mourning Comes, The Morning After vinyl single, Dial M For Murder! return with their full-length debut album Fiction Of Her Dreams; filled with moody vocals, soaring melodies, fuzzy electric guitars, icy textures, and agile basslines, these 29 minutes of “dark wave indietronica” are more than enough to win you over. Highly recommended.
