Julien-K is the brainchild of Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck of the multi-platinum rock group Orgy. As the latter became more and more harder, Amir and Ryan needed an outlet for their love of electronica and thus Julien-K was born. The band later announced the addition of two new members, Brandon Belsky and Elias Andra, with a live line-up including Anthony “Fu” Valcic and Chester Bennington (of Linkin Park fame), who also produced their debut full-length album Death to Analog (due for release on March 10, 2009).
Blending the elements of dark electronic club music with styles of modern rock and pop, this debut provides a sweeping landscape of musical influences and themes that pull the listener into their world on first listen – a world where technology is fused with artistic expression in a way that hasn’t been attempted before. If you are looking for some trancing dark pop inspired by Orgy, The Prodigy, Nine Inch Nails, and Static-X, look no further.
