Monomen

MonomenMonomen is a Norwegian new wave / electronica band from the small suburban area of Sorumsand, outside of Oslo. Formed by former classmates Kristian Rangnes, Kim Skromo, Tobias Kristiansen, and Vidar Torget, the young quartet shows its affection for ’80s post-punk and new wave through a bunch of infectious tracks that bring to mind The Chameleons, Joy Division, Magazine, New Order, Depeche Mode, and Devo.

After releasing an EP on Oslo label Trust Me Records in 2006, Monomen returned with their self-titled debut album a year later. Filled with catchy melodies, Numan-esque weird electronics, and murky vocals, this record alone is enough to establish them as one of Norway’s most promising bands. Give them a listen and prepare to get hooked.
