Officers are a five-piece from Leeds, recently described as making music that’s “so dirty you may think you have stumbled on My Bloody Valentine and Trent Reznor in a red light district together… but still maintains the very essence of cool.” Likened to other low-down and dirty soundmakers like The Jesus & Mary Chain, XTRMNTR-era Primal Scream, and The Chemical Brothers, Jamie Baker, Matt Southall, Stuart Drinkall, Paul Wilson, and Stuart Semple create filthy and compulsive electronic rock’n'roll.
With recent single Red Chapter under their belt, the boys are currently recording new material for their debut album planned for general release sometime next year. What is it to expect? Brooding futuristic sounds, ominous basslines, skuzzy guitar hooks, incendiary beats, and rock and roll swagger. Keep an eye on them.
